Learning Épée fencing through discussions with Niko has been a fascinating journey. It began with rehabilitating the almost two meter tall leftie’s chronic back problem and hasn’t ended yet.

Niko used to fly multiple times from Budabest to Helsinki with an acute cramp that needed to be fixed, usually less than a week before the important competitions. Often, he did succeed well.

In the covid year 2020, Niko decided to put more effort into physical conditioning, and we started a deeper co-operation. During the last years, it has included training through video calls, programming, treatments, video analysis, and Helsinki-based training camps.

Niko’s dream to succeed in the Olympic Games is still to be accomplished. With Niko, there are no difficulties; there are only opportunities.
